Stephanie Williams is the owner and designer of BlueEyes & BareFeet Designs. BlueEyes and BareFeet is a clothing and design company featuring a collection for children created from vintage, vintage-inspired, modern and recycled fabrics.
What makes BlueEyes and BareFeet unique is the fact that a large majority of her designs are made from reused and or salvaged fabrics. She has used fabrics such as vintage white linens, a men's dress shirt or even a jersey t-shirt no one wants anymore. She gathers fabrics through donations, thrift stores and even her grandmother's basement where she has found some of the most amazing vintage fabrics. Her grandmother and mother made the majority of their clothes and is who taught Stephanie how to sew at a very young age. The design fun comes in getting to take what was left of good intentions and unwanted clothes that I can then bring back to life as either detail on a dress or as the dress itself says Stephanie. Many of the designs come adorned with cute appliqus, lots of ruffles and sometimes even hand-stamped with inspiring words.
In 2010, after having spent 7 years as a financial advisor, her passion for sewing and designing was encouraged by her sister who asked her to participate with her at the Westfield Farmers Market. From then until now, she has found a deep joy she could no longer deny, resigned from her position as an advisor, and has launched the business full time as of February 2011. This leap of faith is backed by her enthusiasm, strong vision and experience of demand in the market for unique, quality, handmade childrens clothes. Stephanie believes strongly in originality and strives to continue to create pieces that are not only functionally practical but that bring out the bold individuality and contagious spirit of children. Her products are quickly making their way into local boutiques and the business is organically growing and exceeding original expectations.
She is also the founder of a local women's business organization, {alphaChicks}. Her involvement locally in business associations and organizations, serving as a volunteer in levels from board positions to President roles, has worked to refine her skills as an entrepreneur and leader.
Stephanie earned her degree from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, majoring in both Marketing and Entrepreneurship and specializing in Communications. She currently resides in Westfield, Indiana (moving to Williams, IN, VERY soon) with her husband, Tom and children, Isaac, Abigail and Elise.
