The first time I uttered the words I want to own my own business, I was 20 years old and still in college. It was something that continued to be on my mind consistently for the next 15 years. There were many life experiences and travels that I wanted to get out of my system before I could fulfill this dream of owning my own businesses. It was after my son was born (part of my inspiration) that I finally made my dream come true! I can remember the exact moment the light bulb went off that I decided today was the day. I was sitting in my dining room on a very cold December afternoon, eating lunch, and talking with a friend about life. It was like I was hit with a jolt of electricity and NOTHING could stop me. I had waited too long and wanted to own my own business so badly. The very next day, I packed my 3 month old son up and trucked through the horrible winter weather to the library and checked out books on How to Start a Business. Boy was I nave to think that a book could really teach me what owning a business would be like.
My father is an entrepreneur and has always been an inspiration to me in so many ways, one of them being a business owner. I have always had a passion for decorating, designing, or anything related to arts and crafts. I wanted a business that I could use my creative side, but also bring lots of happiness, smiles, and gratitude to my customers. So, here I am, the owner of The Gifted Basket, LLC, almost two years into it, and I have never been happier and more fulfilled in my life. I was born to be a business owner. My company creates customized gift baskets for corporate clients, event planners, recruiters, lawyers, mom, husbands, etc They are made here locally with lots of love! I find fun and creative containers to arrange the gifts in, and I use as many local artists and vendors that I can (and always looking for more). My company is different than others because all of the ribbons are hand tied, we include a hand written note if you request it, we hand deliver the baskets when we can, and we dont use any wasteful filler items in the basket. I love what I do and it shows by the way I take care of my customers and the product that I deliver. I would challenge you to find a gift basket that is as high quality and sophisticated appearance as I offer!
