I've always wanted to work with computers since I was a teenager, but the requirements were prohibitive back in the day! I've been the "McGuyver" of the family, "connecting the dots" to find creative solutions to problems (usually of an engineering nature). since about age 12. I build things at home, a walk-in closet, for example. Have always had a mechanical inclination, been able to "fix" things seems like forever! Married, widowed young, raised a family alone, went into Human Resources management as a career. Discovered an aptitude for working with personal computers at about 40 years old, and was fascinated by this technology. Changed careers, became a software engineer, did extremely well, even after retiring, handling remote software support for several clients. This is me last year @ 70! (70's the new 50, right?) I'm a great grandmother of 3, retired software engineer, inventor (last year) of patented My Airport Butler. Less than a year later, product is on hand, being marketed on the Web, YouTube, have started an affiliate marketing program for it as well!! Have mentored several women with inventor aspirations. Have encouraged far-flung family members who were not necessarily computer savvy to connect through social networking, huge success, several of them had never met, now chat frequently online!! They claim I'm the "coolest" mom, aunt, great-aunt, grandma, great-grandma on the planet! I'm blushing, but I luv it, and truly feel I'm making a valuable contribution to my family and community!!
