After visiting India many times with my new husband, I decided to do something to make a difference. He was in the process of building a school for children who would learn to read and write in English before taught in the 6th grade. I thought that the jewelry and gifts made in India would be appreciated in the US. Having seen the poverty over there, I decided everyone could make a difference by adding a little bit of love to every sale from the website, so that is what I have set out to do. Net proceeds from the business are donated to the Sitara Foundation, and make their way to benefit the children attending this particular village school. Funding has gone towards books, school supplies, bricks, and even clothing for some of those less well off. It has truly been a labor of love on all fronts, but the joy on the childrens' faces speak volumes and the opportunities for a better future for some of these children are imminent.
