Jane Coulter is fanatical about celebrating life to the fullest. She is also gets really passionately excited about kids, baking, and being in service to others. In 2009, Jane found a way to indulge all three of her passions: she started donating monthly birthday parties to the Atlanta Childrens Shelter.
This ever fun activity ignited a bigger spark in Janes soul and soon thereafter she created The Birthday Bunch, a soon-to-be certified non-profit that provides monthly birthday parties to the Atlanta Children Shelter. ACS provides beneficial tools and resources to homeless families in Atlanta in an effort to break the cycle of homelessness while keeping the family unit intact. After only a few months of this, and an ever deepening regard for the work of ACS, Jane decided to launch karmic kookies, an all-natural gourmet baked goods line made with only the purest and finest organic and local ingredients with the intention of donating 5% back to the Atlanta Childrens Shelter upon profitability. She started distributing her baked goods at the Whistle Stop Farmers Market in Norcross Georgia.
Since these humble beginnings, karmic kookies has been featured in the inaugural edition of the CRAVE guide for Atlanta in 2009. The kookies were also featured on Robyn Spitzmans The Giftionary on Star-94 FM in May 2010. karmic kookies launched in the Georgia Whole Foods Markets in the end of 2010. Even foodie Paula Deen is singing karmic kookies praises as the tea infused shortbread was featured in the goodie bags on Deens 2011 Holland America Cruise.
Jane, Kookie Alchemist and CEO, is a member of the National Association of Professional Women and Ladies Who Launch Atlanta. She says she gets all her experience from her Ph.D in the School of Hard Knocks.
In mid 2011 karmic kookies is rebranding to kriya kitchen and Jane has big plans in store as she is partnering with ACS as a preferred employer for the parents who complete the ACS program as well as developing a mentoring program specifically for theses parents in hopes of offering a springboard from which they can launch a more promising life for themselves and their families, helping to ensure their children will have many more years of happy birthdays.
