"Bisbehave with integrity" has been a guiding mantra in the evolution of my career.

As such, I lead a bit of a double life, as an author and as business owner. Because I have such an expansive support system I have been able to write a book while managing a company.

I was fortunate enough to meet my professional "other" nearly a decade ago when we worked together at an agency whose misguided management led us to the conclusion "if they can do it, we certainly can do it."

Aventine HealthSciences (now Aventine Co.) was born in March of 2002 and soon evolved into a medical communications company with a singular focus in pain management. This led to the founding of the American Society of Pain Educators (ASPE), a 501(c)(3) organization, and the creation of the Certified Pain Educator (CPE).

Aventine is the management company for the ASPE and the producers of PAINWeek, the largest national conference on pain for primary care/frontline clincians. Aventine will soon be launching the PAINWeekEnd regional conference series, and the consumer directed initiative, Life Beyond Pain.
