Executive Coach & Speaker
http://www.victoriatrabosh.com/home.shtml

As an Executive Coach, Victoria Trabosh not only talks the talk, she walks it.  Consider this: when she was only twenty-four she married a man with four kids ages 12, 14, 16, and 18. But this trial by teenager was only the beginning. Over the next thirty two years she not only enforced curfews and helped with homework, she also was a controller in manufacturing, owned a private fiduciary company managing conservatorships, guardianships, trusts and estates, and worked as the managing director for US Bank. But eventually it became clear that “Entrepreneur, Leader, Team Player, Sales Trainer, Consultant, Speaker, Board Member and Auditor” couldn’t fit on a business card. She decided on “Executive Coach” and started a business in 2003, focusing her passion and fearless personality not only on her own success, but the success of others. These days CEOs, business owners, and whole executive teams flock to Victoria for inspiration and advice, knowing their personal best is but a coaching session away.

In addition to supporting and inspiring others, Victoria followed her heart in several other directions. In 2005 she established the Itafari Foundation www.itafari.org, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting the genocide survivors in Rwanda. Victoria has also written a book about her deceased mother, Rita Mae Hoering, affectionately titled Dead Rita’s Wisdom. A tale of hope and courage, it’s written to illustrate Victoria’s belief that all mothers, while far from perfect, offer unconditional love and encouragement. Victoria approaches each day with optimism and joy thanks to hers.

What we learned from Victoria: When nothing is clear in your own life, help others with theirs. You’ll go in wonderful, exciting directions you never considered.

Feet First

When I was twenty four I found myself with an accounting degree and four kids. Not my biological kids, but kids I loved and vowed to raise as my own just the same. It brought out the best in me – strength, perseverance, determination, and the ability to tackle any problem and solve it. I figured, “if at age 24 I can parent an 18 year old, I can do anything!” I did it by sticking to a few hard and fast rules: Set boundaries and high standards, have a sense of humor, admit your mistakes, and make it clear you’re in charge! This mindset serves me well in everything I do.

Running the Family and the Numbers

While I was raising a family, I worked as an accountant and from 1983-1998 owned a private fiduciary company managing conservatorships, guardianships, trusts and estates. After that I was the managing director for US Bank. I enjoyed my work and loved giving back, frequently visiting elderly shut-ins to help them with accounting. But I knew I wanted to be a better leader so I started taking coaching classes. I was a “natural” and realized that whatever you want in life, the only thing that is going to stop you is YOU. That’s when I decided to start my own business.

Getting Started

As an accountant, when I was starting my business I obviously had all of my financial ducks in a row. I had reserves that I invested instead of borrowing money. As for marketing, I sent out a post card that really got my message across. It said, “This fall I jumped from a tall building. I’m thrilled about where I landed.” It was clever and illustrated that if I could do it, clients could do it.

Words of Wisdom

Balance? What’s that? I’m not balanced; I don’t even pretend to be. But I’m happy, I work hard, I’m dedicated, and I trust my instincts. And I listen to my mother. She’s no longer with me but she taught me so much that even now if I’m afraid or unsure, I’ll hear her encouraging me to take advantage of my own wisdom. Every time I “stick” a landing I think of her. This is what I tell clients – trust yourself, do what you know IS right, not what LOOKS right, and never fear failure.

Success

I have a very unique coaching style; I’m passionate but low key. I’ve accomplished great things with clients but I know I’m not right for everybody, and I’m ok with that. I’m happy with who I am, and when my clients experience the same thing, that’s success in my book.

Be Prepared

Any day could be your day, any moment your moment. When you believe fully, passionately, with all your heart that you can attain your goal, you will. So be prepared for it. As my mother always said, “look your best every day; it could be the most important day of your life and you have to be ready.”
