My business is … Original Belly Works, do-it-yourself plaster kits that create a lasting impression of a pregnant woman’s torso. With paint, fabric, flowers, and other enhancements, the final work presents a wonderful, whimsical piece of art and an expressive symbol of love and hope.

My dream is … to help people exemplify the beauty of motherhood through art.

I launched because … of a desire to make my own contribution to the family budget while being a stay-at-home mom. And like so many mothers, I felt a deep need to experience something of my own.

One day you’ll see me … on Oprah and in Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, and special boutique stores.

Ladies Who Launch has helped me … become a part of a great network of like-minded women who have been supportive, inspiring, and motivating. They have challenged me to think bigger than I ever would have otherwise.

When I read in the Ladies Who Launch weekly email that you teach teens to shoot hoops, it made me remember when I almost pursued that in college. I was reading a magazine one day, and Nike had an ad to be a coach to kids. I had done it for my little sister’s 3rd grade team, when the dad coach couldn’t do it anymore. I miss it! But I’m afraid you’ll have to teach me the plays again before I start teaching any kids! All I could tell them at this point is to “box out.”

Belly Works is a great idea. Keep it up!
