SPACE TREAT: Take action

Quiet on the set. Action!

Now that your in and out boxes are efficiently holding all your printer paper, let’s focus on the papers that were displaced. Usually, these papers are associated with some kind of action. For example: file, call, computer entry, write, email, internet research, buy, mail, send to assistant, pay, etc.

These actions will vary according to your individuals needs. Most of the actions probably occur every month.
Get yourself a desktop file (Keyword search: desktop file at www.ContainerStore.com) and hanging files (Keyword search: hanging file folders at www.ContainerStore.com). Write your action titles on the plastic tabs; one per hanging file. Insert them to the far left and arrange alphabetically.

Review displaced papers and distribute into their appropriate hanging file.

It’s still the same information but now it’s much more accessible. So, when you have a spare 15 minutes, you can use it accomplishing these actions instead of scavenging through the piles in your boxes.

Organizationally yours,
Erica
