SPACE TREAT: Disappearing Desk Supplies.

Do you ever reach for your toothbrush to find that it has moved locations while you were sleeping?

Probably not. Most people have one home for their toothbrush and they always know where to find it. But somehow desk supplies have a mind of their own and seem to disappear. Someone other than yourself picks up the stapler, travels to the living room with it and next time you go to retrieve it, humph, it’s gone!

Eliminate the frustration and wasted time that comes from reaching for the scissors only to find they’ve disappeared. Every desk area needs a few basic items to run efficiently and stress-free. These items need to have their very own specific home, either in a drawer or a shelf. Be sure to fortify your desk area with:

  • a stapler
  • a tape-dispenser
  • scissors
  • paper clips
  • binder clips
  • rubber bands
  • highlighters/sharpie markers
  • post-its
  • pens and pencils (preferably mechanical pencils only)

If you find that you tend to use some of these items in the kitchen as well, then just buy a duplicate set for the kitchen drawer. The trick here is to duplicate when necessary so that you always have scissors or pens or tape, etc. at hand whenever you need them.

Organizationally yours,
Erica
