So sometimes I ignore what I feel might be a fad or a trend. Sometimes even though people near me are doing something I just choose to ignore it. There’s only so much time in the day after all. I ignored a fantastic Indian restaurant in my home city of Philadelphia because it was a little farther and I thought it couldn’t possibly be that much better. I was wrong.

I was also wrong about Flock. Flock is a web browser that uses the Mozilla firefox engine for browsing but adds a bunch of Social Networking and Media tools. After just one day of use, I’m totally sold. I’ve been hearing about this browser for over a year and ignored it until I saw someone I know and respect, Stella Gassaway from Stellarvisions using it.

Screen shot of digg in flockUse Twitter? Facebook? CNN? Digg? Flickr? Picassa?…. and on and on. Flock brings them to you. Descriptions fail, because I read descriptions and never cared. Right now I can see my friends latest photos from facebook, their tweets, and what stories they dugg. Also, if you use one of the major blogging platforms you can easily add your posts from the browser directly.

If you are spending time blogging and socializing to get the word out about your business I highly recommend you give Flock a try. I’m pretty sure it will save you time and get you to write more and share more about what you’re launching.

Hi Phil,

I’m so glad you decided not to ignore this trend…I’ve been wondering for a while now if there was anything out there like this! All these tools and social networking sites can get pretty overwhelming at times. I’m going to download Flock right now and I’ll let you know how it goes…I’ll be spreading the word about this one. =)

Thanks,

Alexandra,
I’ve been using it a week now. I still don’t have all my bookmarks in, so i continue to fire up Safari. But I’m still loving it.

Hey Phil,

Glad you liked Flock enough to talk about it.

Just a note that I’m using the new beta and it gets better. Quicker response with the new firefox engine — all the same good stuff and more.

Best,

Stella
