“My favorite green product is GreenDimes , a service that continually eliminates your address from junk mail lists. I love it because it is a simple, inexpensive, and highly effective change that simplifies my life, too.”

“My favorite green product is Vetrazzo, because it takes commercial glass breakage, like Skye Vodka bottles, and turns them into amazing countertops! Using 85 percent recycled materials, it is truly a testament to going green.”
Adryenn Ashley, Wow! Is Me

“I have been working with my kids on some green ideas and I think these are worth sharing. Instead of putting my son’s snacks in a plastic bag, we are using reusable plastic containers. Instead of sending a juice box, he has a heavy duty water bottle with a flip-up straw. Instead of getting plastic bags at the store, we are using reusable bags.
Also, we asked our family to only give our kids small thoughtful gifts at the various holidays and then give them a dollar or some change for the ‘animal bank.’ Each kid has selected an animal from our local nature center to ’sponsor.’ The money in the bank will be given to the center to help feed their favorite animal. We hope this will teach them social responsibility while decreasing the amount of stuff that everyone gives our kids.”

“My favorite green product is the Wallpaper Menagerie—vintage wallpaper hand-cut into silhouettes of animals—because it is so many great things rolled into one: retro and modern, whimsical and cool, recycled and handmade.”
Jenn Labelle, Rompstore.com
Member, New York City

“My favorite green product is anything from Eminence Organics Skin Care because they are 100 percent certified organic and made only from fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices with no fillers and no water content. These products are truly as green as it gets, and are literally delicious to use.”
Sharōn Ronen, Skin Haven Spa Studio

“My favorite green products are these fair trade, eco-friendly candles from Guatemala. They are my favorite because they are 100 percent natural (vegetable dyes, plant-based wax), are made by indigenous Mayan people who are paid a living wage to make them, the proceeds go to support environmental preservation projects in Guatemala and, most of all, because they are absolutely gorgeous.”
Beth Sethi, Bambootique
Member, Portland, OR

“My favorite green product is Sol-U-Mel because of its many healthful uses around the home—from cleaning to personal care to pet care. Sol-U-Mel is an eco-friendly 3-in-1 cleaner that cleans and dissolves impossible-to-clean stains.”
Kim DeYoung, Metromom.com
Leader, New Haven, CT

“My favorite green product is anything PDF or podcast because there is NO PAPER involved. No stamps, no envelope, no wasted paper with information I don’t need.”
Laurelle Johnson, Innerwealthspeakers.com
Member, Ventura County, CA

“My favorite green product is Lavender Moon Herb Gardens Cherry Almond Lip Balm because it contains all-natural ingredients like beeswax, cocoa butter, natural oils, and natural flavors. I am completely addicted! It feels amazing, keeps my lips moisturized, smells delicious, and is handmade by a woman entrepreneur.”
Erin L. Schiffman, Schiffman Creative Inc. - Graphic Design & Creative Consulting
Member, New York City

“My favorite green product is tap water, because bottled water is not only completely unnecessary but it also contributes heavily to the growing environmental problem. New York City boasts one of the purest water supplies in the world yet we support the $10 billion bottled water industry. We have somehow bought into the hype that bottled water is safer than tap water when the truth is that tap water is actually held to more stringent quality standards.”
Ingrid Anderson, Symren, Inc.
Member, New York City

“My favorite green product is Safecoat’s zero VOC paint because it is a high-quality paint that provides excellent coverage, while avoiding many of the toxic ingredients in most paints (ex. formaldehyde, drying agents, etc.). It also seals in off-gassing from previously applied coats of paint.”
Julie Jones, Encore Bridal
Member, Los Angeles

“My favorite green product is anything by the Laundress because it is completely vegan and non-toxic and it does wonders for stains!”
Kimberly Daniels, VerdePaperie
Member, Los Angeles

“One of my favorite green products is NatureWorks cups. I use these now when I have parties because they look and feel like plastic cups but are made from corn and are biodegradable. Another green product that I use now is 100 percent recycled aluminum foil from If You Care. They have a lot of other environment-friendly products as well.”
Tara Biller, Green Proof Your Home

“My favorite green products are the Green Works cleaners by Clorox. The results are fantastic—a sparkling clean home!”
Kelly Fallis, The Remote Stylist

“My favorite green product is an $8 box of six eco light bulbs from Home Depot, which has saved me over $25 a month in electricity bills for my store and workshop! LED Christmas lights for the front of the shop only cost an extra $10 a month, as opposed to last year’s old-fashioned lights, which cranked the bill up an extra $40 per month. No one has noticed any difference in the lighting, but I’m a big fan of the electric bill lately.”

““My favorite green product is tap water”

This is about the best “green” idea I think I’ve ever heard.
