Great article! I've been calling my self a work from home mom... but that goes without saying! I provide custom gift baskets to the corporate world and balancing schedules while finding time to be present for business growth and child growth has been a challenge. Wouldn't have it any other way!

What a great article. I had no idea that I am officially a mompreneur - love it! I can so relate to what the author said about having it all, but just not at the same time. I was the owner of a successful architectural lighting business until I had my son. After many years of infertility I wanted to stay at home with him. Now I am starting an online children's clothing boutique that sells Fair Trade clothing from South Africa. I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to be with my son and at the same time making a difference in these people's lives by bringing their adorable clothing to so many people.

Please visit my site (it is still underconstruction but please bookmark and come and see me):

Many thanks!

Hi kratt1201,

I am a mompreneur myself with a 4 yr old son and a 4 yr old business. Our company is located within a design business incubator in NYC. We have access to prototyping machines, various designers (in-house and within the incubator), and we do 3D animation and modeling, along with logo design and web design.

For our work, please see:

Feel free to contact me. (contact info is on the website.) We'll sign an NDA.

Best,

Hi there,
I am now a "stay at home Mom" with my second daughter now just 6 1/2 months. I have a wonderful idea for a product line and I do not know how to begin. I need a designer to assist me in making a prototype to get the ball rolling, but am new in Orange County, CA and do not know anyone. I am desperately calling all design firms, retail stores and even alterations shops!! Just need someone to help me bring my idea to fruition. Any ideas out there? Seriously, this is a GREAT idea and I have been working on it for months -- any Mompreneurs out there who could give me a contact or two to help me start out? It is a clothing idea for Mom's and I will leave it at that for now. Thank you!
