Last week when I dropped my five-year old off for her first day of Kindergarten, I noticed a quote on the wall of the elementary school computer room adjacent to her classroom: “Success consists of a series of little daily victories.” My first thought was how inspiring and excellent it is for these young students to receive the message of a quote like this, whether conscious or subliminal. It made me realize how easy it is, as adults, to forget the simplicity of these words and how far reaching the applications are when you consider the big picture of your life. Consider that self-esteem, confidence and achievement are all outgrowths of incremental accomplishments over time. I felt privileged and grateful for having noticed the quote, for being able to start my day with the positive energy that these words connote, and for being able to share them with you as a reminder that every step is a gift, and every action, a chance to learn. Put on your filters, take notice of the positivity around you, and hug your small victories, for they are the foundation of all that you are building.
