It’s Labor Day weekend and if you don’t have formal plans, you might consider treating yourself to something small and heartwarming. Here’s my short list of cost-effective favorites that don’t require extra special planning:

Give yourself a manicure with one of the new blue hues or some other vibrant color you are not accustomed to. There’s nothing like the unexpected to raise your spirits, shift your perspective or bring a smile.

Read a book by the fire. It doesn’t have to be winter to enjoy a great fire inside or out. A cold end of summer day is the perfect moment for fireside reading.

Splurge on five new magazines. Create a vision box and fill it with pictures of interior designs, clothes and wellness products that attract you. This is the first step towards manifesting what you desire.

Plan a movie day with friends or family. Decide on 3 different on-demand or rentals to watch and spend the day doing nothing else.

Get a massage, try a Reiki treatment or do a yoga session. Many practitioners will come to your home and there are many in training who charge a lot less but still have sufficient experience. Seek out the opportunities for mind body wellness.
