STILL A FEW SPOTS LEFT for TODAY’s WEBINAR: LinkedIn for Business: Inside Strategies the EXPERTS use on LinkedIn to Grow Business and Cultivate Meaningful Relationships. We’ve discovered that online relationship building tools like LinkedIn are becoming as important as your website when it comes to creating impressions and a communication strategy to grow your customer-base. We’ll walk you through why and how in bite-sized manageable steps. REGISTER NOW. (On-Demand access to video recording available to all registrants after completion of the LIVE Webinar).

In our most recent survey that many of you filled out, 32% of you responded that you are launching a business on the side of a full time job. I have received many inquiries from entrepreneurs and the media alike asking for advice around when it makes sense for a side-launcher to go full time. Here’s my best attempt at advice: Don’t transition too fast. Entrepreneurs, by nature, are impatient—it’s one of our love-hate traits—it moves us forward fast but often causes anxiety due to unrealistic expectations. If you are launching on the side of a full time job, give yourself at least 18 months of learnings and launchings before making any drastic “fish or cut bait” decisions. Launching a business is like entering into a new relationship: Fun and exhilarating at first with a transition to the reality of your compatibility as time goes on. Your new business may indeed be your true love, but give yourself adequate time to be sure without a firm commitment until you are.
