The thing that hardly gets talked about with launching your creative ventures and dreams is the “back-story” - the stuff that happens “behind the curtain” – the fear, the crying, the worrying about what others will think, etc. Success isn’t always sexy – it’s sometimes downright icky to let go of the muck that holds us back. Yet, once you decide to step-out and claim your dreams, everyone benefits. The most important thing to remember is this:
When you may be too afraid to step out and share your gifts that can really help others, you not only lose but so do others. Others need what we have to teach and share – do you want to take away the gift of them experiencing and benefiting from that? If you feel like the burden of potential has gotten too heavy but aren’t sure where to start the process of claiming your gifts (and worth), start with the people you admire:

Who do you just admire like no other?
Who inspires you?
Why do they inspire you?
What is their story?
How did they get to where they are?
Does their whole lifestyle inspire you – personally and professionally – or is it just their profession?

Oftentimes we don’t realize that we’re projecting our “light” onto others – and we continue to shine the spotlight on them so we can stay in hiding. Simply notice this and journal about it – no judgment – just get curious about who you might be projecting your light onto.
And then say to yourself: Why Not Me?
