LaunchTip: A very close friend recently sent me a picture of the bumper sticker shown here. It reads: “Well-behaved women seldom make history.” She elaborated that a very old man was the driver of this car with this bumper sticker affixed to back. I thanked her for sharing the image and giving me fodder for today’s launchtip. What to make of this? Well, how about the truth? I can’t think of one woman who has made it big who has actually followed the traditional rules that society sets forth for us. When we stay “inside the box”, that is where we stay-unknown, unrecognized and uninspiring to the world. If you’ve never had the experience of doing the opposite of what those around you are preaching, well then, you’ve probably never experienced the joy that comes with greatness.bumper sticker The naysayers are the rule-makers and there’s only one way to beat them at their game: Don’t play it, meaning, don’t buy into it. Every once in a while, life will show some certainty around some radical way of thinking that is completely divorced from the current mindset. Pay attention to those moments and don’t let them slip away. Those are the moments that lead to greatness and more importantly, pave the way for others to follow your lead.
