From Luna Brem, CEO, Love Chrysler, featured business woman in The GLOW Project
If you’re thinking about launching a business, don’t wait. Do it. If you don’t know absolutely every single thing about your industry, so what? A lot of it you’re going to figure out as you go. If I had waited to start my company until I understood each tiny detail about being a CEO I’d still be dragging my feet. And as a matter of fact, after 19 years, I’m still learning. The one thing we all have in common is that we’re mortal. So live with urgency, jump right in, work hard and pay attention. There’s no substitute for experience.

So true! To put it in a way that most mothers would understand, if you waited until you were “ready” to have children, then you never would. You just have to understand that you will only get out of something what you put into it – and that usually means a LOT of hard work if you want it to succeed!!

Very good advice. You will never, ever know everything so why wait?

Best LaunchTip yet! Seems so easy to do, but it’s also just as easy to forget this little fact!!

It’s almost better that you don’t know everything you are getting into. Then most of us would ‘overthink’ it and talk ourselves out of it. At least I probably would have!
What a great line! “So live with urgency, jump right in, work hard and pay attention.”
Great personal motto to. We are going to quote & link it to LWL, for our Daily Kick in the Butt on Fri.

I agree that the best way to start a business is to “start” a business. You can spend hours drawing up a business plan, reading books and guides, etc. While you can get a lot of valuable advice from others, there will always be some trial and error, so check your fears at the door!

This is a good one for me today…I’ve been hesitatingly fearful in several ways. Lots of “what if”s. Lots of ‘overthinking’. Something has to give>
After all, I guess “too many orders” is better than “no orders”! Feels like jumping off a cliff though! yikes! glad for my incubator-pod!

A Fine Farewell
Luna,
Thank you for your insight. I read your story this week and it helped me get over myself. I have a small mailing list of women that receive my weekly newsletter. When I found out about “The Glow Project” I invited all the local women on my mailing list to my home to view the movie together.
My business coach has challenged me to have a workshop. Fear and doubt one minute, courage the next. I know that when I position myself so I can’t get out of a committment I really go for it and hit home runs.
YOU’RE RIGHT! GET OVER YOURSELF AND LIFE LIKE IT’S YOUR LAST CHANCE, BECAUSE IT IT SILLY! Tomorrow evening’s event will be the first in many to come.

Spread Joy. Shred Fear. Have Fun.
I’ve been reading the Daily Launch Tips since it started and I would have to say that this is the best one by far. I love the line “So live with urgency, jump right in, work hard and pay attention.” It just inspires me to go ahead and jump right in to designing my own line. I have been thinking about it, planning and researching but reality is I think I just have so much fears and hesitations especially with the current economy. But after reading this, it just inspired me and gave me confidence to just go for it.
