From Victoria Colligan, Founder, Ladies Who Launch

Have you ever tried Reiki? My first experience with Reiki came when I organized a wellness luncheon and invited a Reiki master to educate the attendees on the benefits of Reiki. I learned that contrary to popular belief, a specific ailment is not necessary to warrant a Reiki session. I began doing bi-weekly Reiki sessions and since then have never looked back. If you are wondering how Reiki can improve or add value to your life, here’s how:

The practice is premised on a trained master harnessing the energy of the universe to change the energy flow in your body resulting in getting things moving and loosening energy flow in places where energy might be stuck.

After a session you may feel more balanced, at ease, even at peace. In this way Reiki, is a true stress buster.

Getting physically unstuck in your body translates to an emotional and mental release of the “stuckness” of the mind.

If you are looking for something new or complimentary to your current wellness practices, try a Reiki session for both a mental, physical and spiritual release.

I love that you shared your experience with Reiki. I started trying Reiki last fall as a kind of experiment to get energy flowing in my life again. I left my first session feeling very relaxed and with a clear, alert mind.

Like any healing practice, I would seek out references and the right fit if you’re new to Reiki. You have to find a Reiki master that is well fit for you. But I loved my experience and try to go a few times a month to stay on task and in the flow.

Thanks for sharing!

hello ladies!

the same is true for other wellness modalities…you don’t need to be ill to avail yourself. in fact, that’s what wellness sessions are all about…STAYING well so you have the energy and vision to make your life and your business happen.

private yoga sessions with a certified yoga therapist provide you with practices specifically designed to meet your needs for maintaining health and dealing with those issues that inevitably arise. you then can go on to practice at home or in a class with greater confidence that you are doing what’s right for YOU.

in good health,
felice

I enjoy the benefits of receiving Reiki at Unity North in Atlanta. I also belong to their healing angels group as a Reiki practicioner. It’s such a joy to be able to help others achieve wellness and relaxation with this gentle and spiritual modality.

This is you-know-what. When I read this, I thought I’d stumbled by sheer accident onto Oprah’s site. Victoria, you may be better served to think twice before just tossing out such fringe ideas at will to the entire reading public. What next? Voodoo sessions? In the interest of being balanced, will you be suggesting anytime soon that the members consider commiting their lives to Christ and getting “de-junked” that way? No? Thought not…
We need true business tips here — leave the mumbo jumbo to the expert — Oprah. Please stick to the “business” at hand…entrepreneurship for women.
Just my two-cents.

I am an energy work practitioner, and one of the many things I do is Reiki. It’s really a pleasure to receive this as one of the LaunchTips because so many of us forget that our body, soul and spirit are all so vital to our success as business leaders.

“The concept of total wellness recognizes that our every thought, word, and behavior affects our greater health and well-being. And we, in turn, are affected not only emotionally but also physically and spiritually.” ~ Greg Anderson

As a Reiki practitioner, I’m glad to hear that this healing practice has made such a positive difference in your life, Victoria. Reiki treatment balances the whole person – body, mind and spirit – and can be a powerful tool for maintaining or regaining wellness.

I would like to clarify, however, that it is not only Reiki masters who can give treatment. There are three levels of Reiki practice: First Degree, which enables a person to offer hands-on treatment to herself and others; Second Degree, which additionally enables one to send treatment at a distance, whether it’s across the room or across the world; and Master, which qualifies one to teach others and initiate them in their practice.

If you are seeking only treatment, not training, Master status is less significant than a demonstrated commitment to Reiki practice. Look for a practitioner who has been practicing Reiki for a reasonable length of time, including daily self-treatment; ask about her training and experience; and of course, make sure that she is someone with whom you feel comfortable.

Sounds like “thebeautifullife” could do with a few Reiki sessions! Don’t knock it till you try it. I am a practitioner and channel this Divine Gift into all of my activities and have noticed a profound and measurable difference including in the BOTTOM LINE!! Perhaps The Beautiful Life could become even more beautiful with a bit openness rather than criticism…

What a great and insightful tip!

That’s what I love about LWL, not only do we get the ‘practical’ business tips…but we also get the deeper, more meaningful sights into caring for ourselves. After all, we are the fuel for our businesses and recharging and taking care of our bodies, minds and energy have a profound positive effect on ourselves and by extension our lives and businesses.

I tried Reiki with a great practitioner last summer when I was experiencing some stressful business decisions and it was incredible the amount of peace, calmness and insights that came up.

Hi Victoria,

I am honored to hear how much you love Reiki and speak very positively of the effects it has on you. I agree it can assist in balancing and removing energy blockages and open you up more spiritually. I use Reiki quite a lot with children they find it very healing and calming too.

Victoria,
Nice to hear you have found benefits from Reiki and have shared your POV on the blog. Entrepreneurs must manage their energy and focus on wellness to accomplish all they desire.

As an integral coach, I use Reiki in my work with high achieving clients and have found a great mentor in my Reiki Master.

There are many modalities that support our brilliance and balance body, mind and spirit.
Gretchen
