Daily LaunchTip, February 12, 2009

February 12th, 2009 · 3 Comments

From Rachel Sarnoff, Founder and CEO, EcoStiletto

In large organizations, an open door policy means that any employee can have access to any manager at any time, promoting communication, trust and honest feedback. At EcoStiletto, I too have an open door policy, but my door is open not only to employees, of which I have two, but to everybody! I’m always enthusiastically available to talk about my efforts to support sustainable style. It’s my favorite subject. And what’s more, by encouraging questions, comments, even criticism, I’ve become an opportunity magnet by virtue of the fact that people are attracted to my energy and feel comfortable approaching me. If you’re really passionate about your business- and what entrepreneur isn’t?- don’t get so caught up in the day-to-day grind that you forget to connect with other people. Keep your door open and welcome everyone who walks through it. How else will you hear what they have to say?
