Daily LaunchTip, December 9, 2008

December 9th, 2008 · 9 Comments

From Carrie Sommer, President, Sommer Designs LLC.

As women, our responsibilities are varied and often all-encompassing. I, like so many other women, started a business 10 years ago that, at the time, worked well for me as the mother of young children. I was able to work my schedule around my family and our active lives. This is the part so many women are good at – arranging ourselves to fit around others. What’s difficult is switching gears. We’re comfortable, the routine is familiar – why rock the boat? But don’t ever be so married to an idea that you can’t visualize going in another direction. Opportunities for greater success and fulfillment are everywhere if you keep your eyes open and are willing to try something new. Several years ago an opportunity presented itself and I entered an industry that has taken more of my time and energy. But my family is older and it has worked out beautifully!
