Daily LaunchTip, December 8, 2008

December 8th, 2008 · 11 Comments

From Victoria Colligan, Founder and CEO, Ladies Who Launch

Having lived and breathed launching for at least 5 years now, I’ve learned a lot about ideas, and the best ones remind me of what my six year old looks like climbing a rock wall – effortless. But it’s important to remember that while the “Why didn’t I think of that?” products are second nature to us, a lot of complex brain-storming and follow-through took place in the beginning. Think yellow stickie notes, the bobby pin, the ipod, the camera. These fixtures in our lives took years of intense thinking and teamwork to develop. Great ideas are not hard to come by, they’re just hard to implement in the most simplistic, understandable and easy to navigate of ways. Stay true to your vision and close to the helm. When you can describe your idea in one sentence, or better, 3 words (e.g. www.gilt.com equals “sample sales online”), that’s when you know you’ve made it.
