From Victoria Colligan, Founder Ladies Who Launch
In Marci Shimoff’s book Happy for No Reason: 7 Steps to Being Happy from the Inside Out, she stresses that happiness is not tied to how much money you have or how many material possessions you acquire, though she is careful to point out that money and happiness are by no means mutually exclusive. The book is a true in-depth analysis of what makes some people the happiest people on earth and others, just simply content or status quo. In identifying candidates to interview for her book, she congregates a group which she refers to as the Happy 100, true examples of happy individuals from whom she draws conclusions and validation on her own research of what it takes to be truly happy. The book is a refreshing eye opener into what matters in life and what we choose to value and focus on. From my own vantage point, I believe that the sooner we can become “happy for no reason”, the sooner we achieve the very dreams we attached to the definition of happiness in the first place.
