LaunchTip: Recently I read about a phenomenon called “future memories”. I was so fascinated by the application that this phenomenon has for dream manifestation that I thought I would share my observations with you.

Have you ever envisioned a future event so strongly that you actually feel “as if” it has already happened? Think back to a time when you may have had this experience and invariably the “dream” or “fantasy” likely had some basis in a partial reality that you already experienced. Maybe you envisioned going on vacation to Jamaica. You’ve never been there, but you’ve been to Anguilla, so you allow your imagination to create a hybrid experience of what the “Jamaica” experience might be like. Because you have such a strong similar experience in your past, you are more likely to create a vision that your mind will start to make choice towards, possibly even without much effort or awareness.

In a nutshell, studies are beginning to show the impact that reliving your past can have on “envisioning your future.” Specifically, several studies on amnesia patients demonstrate the disconnect between a lack of being able to recall past events and the ability to envision future events. It follows that if you believe a clear vision of the future is the first step towards manifesting your goals, then according to these studies, memory would play a crucial role in such goal achievement. The key to using “future memories” to manifest your dreams is applying a high level of emotion and accessing your past with the modifications that reflect exactly how you want the future to be. This can be especially tricky for those whose past is completely at odds with the future they so desire. But the point is, if we can literally act “as if” a future vision has already happen, it likely will, and what’s more? Quickly.
