July is devoted to all things techie. Remember when it was a geek’s world and we just dipped our toe into it occasionally with the purchase of a computer or cell phone? Now we can create our own e-newsletters, sync our iPhones with address books, and instant message a friend in Argentina while texting a co-worker about a meeting.

I always say that if you really want to get something done, hire a mom. No one else can multitask quite like a woman who’s used to juggling spit-up, soccer games, grocery shopping, status reports, and strategy meetings.

We leap into May with thoughts about escaping for summer … but where to go? How much will it cost? Where can we really get away from it all? How will we keep our businesses going?

More and more, green is the new … everything. It isn’t enough just to recycle or turn out the lights unless you’re also countering your carbon footprint through planting trees! Businesses, especially smaller, more nimble ones, are getting incredibly savvy about using packaging that is earth-friendly or from recycled goods, finding soy-based ink printers, using factories that embrace green practices, and so forth.
