Member’s LaunchTip: 3 Ways to Revolutionize Your Food Paradigm and Your Diet

Nwenna Kaiby Nwenna Kai, CEO, Nwenna Kai Enterprises,

1) Eat only food that you can recognize and can pronounce.
You do not want to eat food that you cannot pronounce or cannot recognize which comes down to eating whole natural plant-based food that doesn’t need artificial preservatives and should be eaten as soon as it is bought. And if it doesn’t look like something that came from a tree, vine, out of the ocean in plant form, or out of the ground, then you probably don’t want to eat it or eat too much of it.

2) Eat simply.
Digestion takes up a lot of your body’s energy so be good to your digestive organs and eat the food that it loves and appreciates so it is able to easily break down, assimilate, digest, and distribute the nutrients throughout your body’s system so that you can enjoy vibrant health. Eating simply means eating more frequently throughout the day in smaller portions and also consuming one type of food at a time. For example, have a smoothie in the morning followed by a bowl of melon a few hours later, followed up with a large green salad coupled with some sort of grain and veggies, then for dinner maybe a soup or a simple wrap with veggies, and for dessert have some sliced apples and a nut butter of some kind.

3) Create your own food pyramid
Not everyone’s body requires the same amount of protein, calories, or carbohydrates. We all have different needs for our body based on our lifestyles and activity levels. Rely on your own body’s intuition and eat according to what your body is craving in its natural form. If your body is craving salt, consume Celtic sea salt or Himalayan salt. If your body is craving sweets, consume natural sugars like agave nectar, honey, or maple syrup.

Member’s LaunchTip: Tricks for Remembering Names

Karen Mizrahiby Karen Mizrahi, Squeaky Wheel Promotions

I meet so many people in my line of work and sometimes I just cannot remember anyone’s name. One of my professors in Law School taught me the following techniques and they actually work:

1. Make up a little story about the person you meet that correlates with the person’s name
2. Repeat the person’s name 5 times over in your head when you meet them
3. When first introduced to the person, use their name in conversation repeatedly, this will not only confirm that their correct name, but also reinforces the name in your own mind.

Member’s LaunchTip: Create a Fool-Proof Facebook Plan

Amy Porterfieldby Amy Porterfield, Social Media Consultant & Trainer

Facebook pages popping up in record numbers. Businesses saw that they had another space to connect with their clients and a great opportunity to add value.

However, one thing I hear repeatedly is that Facebook page owners are frustrated with their lack of fans and low engagement levels. They work hard to create the page, add the bells and whistles, but no-one comes.

One reason for this is a lack of purpose and planning. The words purpose and planning might not seem all that sexy. However, the payoff is big and worth the time. Once you put a plan of action in place (in the form of an editorial guide), the rest starts to fall into place. The result: growing fans and increasing engagement will not feel like work, but actually be an enjoyable experience. Imagine that!

First, Define Your Purpose

To define the purpose of your page, here are three questions to consider:

#1: Why Do You Want a Facebook Page?
#2: How Will Your Page Differ From Your Website?
#3: What is Your “It” Factor?

Amy will reveal the answers on today’s Free webinar at 1:00pm (EST). Exclusive Offer in Today’s Webinar. Register and Tune In LIVE.

Member’s LaunchTip: 7 Common Marketing Mistakes

by Christine Woodward, Founder My PR Tools

Here are some of the most common marketing and PR mistakes that I see entrepreneurs make:

1. Scattershot approach to marketing: Random marketing effortswith no clear plan in place is usually a huge waste of money and unlikely to generate the results you were hoping for.
2. Don’t know the target audience: What are your target audiences problems and concerns? What problems you solve for them? This knowledge is essential and must be at the heart of all your marketing messages.
3. Emphasizing services over benefits in marketing messages: Dont just focus on your services. Your marketing messages should first and foremost communicate what sets you apart from the competition and the benets that you bring.
4. Branding is all over the block: Your company needs a strong brand identity that your clients easily recognize and that is carried across all your print materials, your website and electronic marketing campaigns.

5. Website is confusing: Make sure your website is easy to navigate and clearly guides the visitor to the information that you want to emphasize, especially how you stand out from the competition, and the benefit you bring to your clients and customers. Have a strong Call to Action that clearly tells the visitor what you want them to do.

6. Annoying email marketing: For effective email marketing you need to focus on the benefits to your clients and customers. Communicate a clear benefit in the subject line. And dont overdo it; if your emails are too frequent, theyll just get deleted unopened.
7. Press releases are puff pieces with no value to the reader: The best press releases focus on why the product, service or event is significant now and clearly demonstrate why its relevant to the reader.

Victoria’s LaunchTip: Is Your Plan Working? If Not, Consider Minor or Major Change.

When Henry Ford felt defeated and distanced from achieving his dreams, what did he do? He created new plans! And marched on to victory.

This is the same story for every launcher who ever lived. When your current plan isn’t working, it may be time for a complete overhaul or a minor tweaking. Take some time to assess what level of change is required and then implement a fresh strategy right away. Defeat is not a destination. Instead it is a powerful catalyst to shift you from discouragement to excitement; from paralysis to inspired action.

Victoria’s LaunchTip: Make People Feel Good and Success is Around the Corner

Being an active part of people feeling good about themselves is a surefire path to success. No one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes, but the more we encourage those around us to be true and committed to being their best selves, the more likely we are to benefit from their best work.

When it’s necessary to make corrections with co-workers and partners, be gentle and position your changes with optimism and encouragement. There’s always a lesson involved; usually for all parties. Inspiring confidence in others around you ensures results that increase the collective benefit.

Victoria’s LaunchTip: The Real Truth about Resistance and How You Can Resist it.

We’ve all heard the saying, “Resistance is futile.” In truth, it is. Not only is it futile, it is a waste of precious resources.

Resisting what-is actually reinforces your connection to an undesirable circumstance. The quickest way to move through resistance is to embrace what-is and become aware of the subtle nuances that guide you to the next appropriate action step. Stepping into the mode of mere curiosity allows you to discover the benefits of what-is instead of being consumed or unnecessarily expending emotional, physical or financial resources. You’ll notice a shift very quickly because you are not trying to fix anything; you’re merely the observer.

Member’s LaunchTip: How to Become Healthier, Wiser and Balanced.

by Monica Bloom, Founder HeyMonicaB

As an Ayurvedic (sister science to yoga) Practitioner and certified Personal Trainer I am an advocate of yoga, meditation and stretching!

Basically the mind and body are tightly connected. They are not separate. So, when one is off balance, so is the other. For example, if we have a stressed mind we might lose our appetite or carry extra tension in our neck, shoulders and head (headache). Yoga and stretching help to open the channels throughout the body which helps stagnant energy flow. This releases stress in the mind and therefore, in the body.

Meditation and pranayama is especially important because the nose is the quickest passage to the brain! Proper breathing instantly tells the mind that everything is calm and that we are okay. Our blood pressure lowers, we feel more focused and maybe even energized. Taking just 10 deep, slow breaths through the nose is an instant stress relief!
