My business is … StinkyKids brand apparel, paintings, and merchandise, which celebrates the innocence and joys of childhood. The 10 lovable StinkyKids characters help teach kids the importance of giving back to the community, and a portion of StinkyKids profits are donated toward the fight against cancer and other good causes.
My dream is … to make StinkyKids a household name and help make the world a better place.
I launched because … my daughter Emma at 2 1/2 years old asked me to paint her as a ballerina, which led to commissioned paintings for other families, and then a retailer in Atlanta wanted to buy the rights to my characters, and now I have a character-driven company teaching kids to “Always Be a Leader of Good.” There was never a thought process—it was just put in my lap as a stay-at-home mom, and the rest is history.
One day you’ll see me … on “The Big Idea” and “Oprah.” You will also see me in the Bahamas with my family celebrating the worldwide success of StinkyKids (very soon)!
Ladies Who Launch has helped me … appreciate the power of women and the strong friendships that are formed between women even if you never meet in person. Most important, it has reminded me to never make excuses for my life—a business meeting CAN have your kids laughing in the background!
