Fall incubator dates coming soon

Paola Abello comes from a family of entrepreneurs and has always been drawn to a lifestyle of creativity and entrepreneurship.  Paola has over ten years experience working with start up ventures in various sectors, applying her finance, marketing and operations skills to help grow and develop programs and organizations. Paola's first entrepreneurial venture was creating a popular upscale bakery café, Boston Bagel Café in Fort Lauderdale. The business competed successfully with well-known franchises and continues to grow today under its new owners.

After selling her café, Paola moved on to the real estate sector, re-vamping the operations of her family business while managing the company's portfolio of assets and capital improvement projects. Once improving the profitability and efficiency of this real estate firm, she moved on to help a new venture philanthropy organization, Social Venture Partners, launch its operations in Boston and sat on the Board of Directors advising on a growth strategy for the organization.

Currently she is working on various projects with her family business, Argentex Inc. www.argentexplaza.com  in the area of commercial real estate (through expansion of the property management business and combining her desire to build a better community through green building and real estate) and facilitating strategic partnerships in the area of international trade with Argentina.

Paola also volunteers her time as the Boston Chapter Director of Flashes of Hope www.flashesofhope.org, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to creating powerful, uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer and other life threatening diseases. Ms. Abello currently coordinates monthly photo shoots at Tufts New England Medical Center, Floating Hospital for Children and Children's Hospital Boston.

Paola holds her B.A. in Finance and Economics from Boston College and her MBA in Entrepreneurship from Babson College.

Twice Is Nice
MakeReady Home Design Services

people get ready!

Calling that maroon and mustard paisley couch you inherited from Grandma the “greening of your living room” might be a stretch.

But before you throw the old beast out (the couch, not Granny), call Kara Butterfield of MakeReady. The Australian-born stylist and her team restyle rooms using their trained eyes and savvy style to take what you own and make it decidedly more chic.

Butterfield consults on interior layouts, color, lighting, and accessories for one room or ten. Or throw a party for friends and invite her to share imaginative tips on anything from bookshelf displays to table settings.

It might save Gran’s couch from the back alley.

And you from a guilty (eco)conscience.
