Joan Lunden
Journalist, Author and Television Host
American journalist, author and entrepreneur. She was the co-host of
ABC's Good Morning America
from 1980 through 1997 and is the author of 8 best-selling books.
On Good Morning America for nearly two decades,
Joan Lunden was one of the most popular television co-hosts. Lunden started at
the ground level in the news business. She was hired as a trainee at
a local news station in 1973 and quickly rose up the ranks. By 1975,
Lunden was a weather person, reporter, and anchor for the station. That year,
she left her native California for New York City to take a job at WABC. Four
years later she won the coveted job as co-host of Good Morning America.
Raising three young children as America watched, Lunden became a role
model for working mothers everywhere. Despite a demanding schedule
that involved getting to work before dawn, she still found time for
other projects. In her autobiography, Good Morning,

she shared some of the challenges she faced as a female journalist.
In 1987 Lunden was paired with Charles Gibson forming a pair the audience
loved and launching the show to number 1 in the morning television race.
Today, Joan is an entrepreneur – under her Joan Lunden Brand is
her bedding line, Joan Lunden Home, sold on QVC and Walmart.com;
her child safety device, Kinderkord, which she developed,
brought to market, and is now selling nation-wide; and her
skincare line, Murad Resurgence. As a longtime women’s
health and wellness advocate, 5 years ago Lunden launched Camp Reveille,
