|Angela Stalcup is the Membership Director for Ladies Who Launch, an online and in-person support community for women entrepreneurs with education, resources, and exposure opportunities for women-owned businesses from concept, to launch and beyond.|
A self-proclaimed "accidental entrepreneur," Angela fell in love with self-employment in 1994, when she joined the staff of a tech startup company. Freedom and flexibility sparked her love of entrepreneurship, and helping people of diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds cope with various life challenges became her passion. Angela has spoken about entrepreneurship all over the world, from West Africa and the Caribbean to South America and South Korea.
Angela spent 13 years as a successful freelance communications consultant, but it wasn't really her passion. She stumbled upon the annual Atlanta Ladies Who Launch one-day event and, in this room of dynamic, motivated women, and fell in love with the spirit and mission of the company.
She immediately signed up for the Incubator Intensive, joined the Platinum Member Program, and quickly joined the Ladies Who Launch Atlanta team. Within 9 months she became the Market Director of the Atlanta program in January 2009.
Angela embraces challenges and has learned not to flinch in the face of fear: she has spoken to a crowd of 2000 people in French, had a machine gun pointed at her in West Africa, and been featured in the paper in her size-16 bikini.
Angela brings her free spirit and sense of adventure to her work with Ladies Who Launch, where she facilitates women through the dream building process from concept to established business.
Angela holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Rhetoric from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. When she's not helping to birth entrepreneurial visions, you can find her sporting funky, super-high stilettos around town, practicing yoga, and blogging at The Curvy Life, where she promotes a healthy body image and lifestyle.
